Developed software requirements specification for integrated library system to be developed on open source platform such as Evergreen. This document served as the roadmap for KCLS development efforts over the next several years.

Evaluated delivery operations of all six regional systems and made recommendations for optimizing services including integrating delivery operation with library system software, consolidating delivery systems and automating sort. The Final Report and Recommendations related to sorting, labeling, and workflow were also included.

Managed numerous projects including rolling out computer labs, and establishing and managing the webcast program. Developed and delivered workshops on Computer and Internet Troubleshooting. Developed and delivered numerous webcasts on filtering and RFID. See Infopeople website for archived training material and webinars.

Compared costs and benefits of materials handling operations between two library branches that differed only in how they used automated systems to get the work done. Demonstrated a significant savings for library using automated materials return system.

Conducted materials handling analysis. Provided recommendations and projected payback periods for implementing automated materials handling and RFID technologies.

Configured desktops for public use including setting up security, installing and configuring applications and establishing backup and cloning system. Providing ongoing support as needed.

The mission of the Rural Initiative Resources Clearinghouse (Resource Roundup) was to create and maintain an online archive of resources to support California's rural public library directors and staff in serving their public mission more efficiently. By seeking out and sharing examples of commonly needed documents, materials, and programs in all aspects of library operations and services, the Clearinghouse benefits rural libraries by eliminating the need to "reinvent the wheel" for every new policy, practice, procedure or project needed at the local level.

Assisted with the evaluation of the public access computing system and worked with staff on selection and procurement.

Recommended automated materials handling system for libraries under construction, provided recommendations on use of RFID and bar code technologies.

Evaluated materials handling operation including delivery and processing of deliveries at each branch, plus technical services. Provided recommendations for improving efficiency, automating sort, and reducing repetitive steps involved in processing materials. Assisted with planning for new building to house technical services and delivery operations.
