Project Summary

This project was done in partnership with Melissa Stockton of Quipu Group. It involved developing a procurement strategy for replacing Massachusetts' current resource-sharing product (SirsiDynix URSA) and then taking the stakeholders through RFP development, evaluation and demos and eventually through to selection.

The project included conducting a needs assessment that involved focus groups with representatives from all of the shared networks in Massachusetts as well as MassCat (a shared Koha system that hadn't been on URSA).

Following the needs assessment phase, we developed an RFP and scoring document to be used by the evaluation team. In addition, we developed the demo script and participated in demos and worked with the libraries to make their final vendor selection.

Here's the Phase One Report that provides a nice survey of ILL options available circa 2011. And this is the Final Report with recommendations.
