Grantwriting can be tough - and take a considerable amount of library staff time. So consider attending this unique, free workshop where we'll collaboratively explore the use of AI-based tools like ChatGPT to assist in library grantwriting. We'll share our results with the greater public library community - help us figure out what works and what doesn't!

October 6th, 10am PDT - Introductory Session
We'll set the groundwork for our AI grantwriting journey with a review of how modern AI works -- what it can do, what it can't do. Then we'll begin analyzing some sample grants using a custom AI-based tool. No prior tech or AI experience is needed; we're all here to learn together.

October 7 - 19th - Independent Work, Online Discussion
After our initial kickoff session, you'll have 2 weeks to try the tools and techniques on your own grantwriting projects. We'll also have an online platform where you can share challenges, ask questions, and discuss your experiences with the rest of the cohort.

October 20th, 10am PDT - Report-Back and Follow-up Session
To wrap things up, we'll come back together for a collective reflection session.  We'll discuss what worked, what didn't, and what we learned during your time of independent exploration. We'll jointly develop a toolkit of best practices for incorporating AI into library grantwriting - and then we'll share that toolkit for free with the library community.
