Palo Alto Automated Materials Handling and Self-Check Consultation for Palo Alto City Library

In 2014, the Library implemented their first automated materials handling systems at their two busiest branches. As those system approach their end-of-life, the Library engaged Lori Ayre to evaluate whether to upgrade or replace the current systems and consider adding AMH at the other locations.  A materials handling analysis was conducted to determine how to proceed with sorting and delivery throughout the system as well as both the self service-returns and self-service check-outs.
